Mr.X, a software engineer from City A, discovered his bank account was frozen when his monthly EMI got rejected. Upon inquiry, ABC Bank informed him that his account was under temporary hold due to a cyber crime complaint. Mr.X was shocked as he had never engaged in any fraudulent activity. Investigation revealed that Mr.Y from City B had filed a complaint alleging that ₹1,500 was transferred from his account to Mr.X's account through a fraudulent transaction. However, Mr.X had legitimately received this amount as payment for online tutoring services provided to Mr.Y's son. The cyber crime police had frozen multiple accounts without proper verification, causing significant hardship to innocent account holders who were unable to access their legitimate funds for months.
