Mr.X approached me after falling victim to a sophisticated loan fraud scheme. He had taken a short-term loan from X.brand loan application on DD/MM/YYYY, which was disbursed instantly. Later that evening, he received a call from someone claiming to be an executive from X.brand. The caller convinced Mr.X that he was eligible for a long-term loan at better interest rates. The fraudster requested Mr.X's disbursal letter and other documents. Using social engineering tactics, the scammer guided Mr.X through multiple UPI transactions under the pretense of processing fees, verification charges, and security deposits. Before Mr.X realized the deception, he had transferred ₹29,000 through various UPI payments. When he attempted to contact the genuine X.brand customer service, he discovered no such loan officer existed and that he had been completely defrauded.Advice in Such Cases
