One of my clients recently had a case which I am explaining below and if you are stuck in such similar situation, here is what to do.
Note: Due to attorney-client privilege, I cannot disclose complete case details or identify the actual parties involved. However, I am sharing the essential facts and legal approach so that if you find yourself in a similar situation, you can understand the available solutions and legal remedies.
Mr.X, a 29-year-old professional from City A, was in a long-distance relationship with Ms.Y, a 28-year-old Christian woman. Both were adults planning to marry after three years of relationship. Mr.X’s mother strongly opposed their interfaith relationship and contacted members of a religious organization from ABC Religious Group to intervene and force Mr.X to break up with Ms.Y. The mother invited these individuals to their home and they attempted to pressure, intimidate, and coerce Mr.X into ending his relationship. The third parties made threats about social consequences and used religious arguments to create fear. Mr.X felt harassed and intimidated by this organized effort to interfere in his personal life and fundamental right to choose his life partner.

Police may be reluctant to intervene in religious or family matters but must act when criminal intimidation is reported. They often suggest compromise but cannot ignore complaints of threats and harassment by organized groups.
