Eligibility:
- One partner must be an Indian citizen.
- Both partners must be above the legal age of marriage (21 for men and 18 for women).
- Marriage must have been solemnized within the territory of Delhi.
- Registration should be completed within 60 days of the wedding ceremony.
Steps:
- Visit the e-District Delhi website: https://edistrict.delhigovt.nic.in/
- Click on “Register Now” and create an account.
- Login and select the “Registration of Marriages” service.
- Choose the appropriate Act under which your marriage was solemnized: Hindu Marriage Act, 1955 or Special Marriage Act, 1954
- Fill out the online application form carefully, providing accurate details for both partners.
- Upload scanned copies of the following documents:
- Marriage certificate
- Age proof documents (birth certificate, passport, etc.) for both partners
- Address proof for one partner residing in Delhi for more than 30 days (ration card, utility bill, etc.)
- Separate affidavits from both partners (format available on the website) stating: Date of birth, Present marital status, Confirmation that they are not related within prohibited degrees.
- Download Application Form for registration of marriage under Hindu Marriage Act.
- Download Application Form for registration of marriage under Special Marriage Act.
- Download Identification Certificate a) any person having PAN of income Tax (OR) b) any officer/official of Central or State govt. or UT Administration or PSU/Autonomous bodies whose identity can be established
- Download Affidavit
